lovely if used correctly - stupid and dangerous when used by knobs who don't HAVE a 25m garden when they are supposed to be a minimum of 25m away from people!

oreocrumbs · 22/10/2012 20:38

Hate them, for the same reasons as ChickenFillet.

It isn't fireworks themselves as such - if they were only available to proper organised events I would have no problem with them, it is the fact that anyone can buy them and abuse them that I don't like.

ByTheWay1 · 22/10/2012 20:38

I both love and hate fireworks...

I love them because they are pretty and make me go WOW...

I hate them because they are noisy and you usually have to stand in a wet field with screaming kids to watch them ( and spend an hour getting out of the car park)

... but I do like Christmas threads a bit - only 63 days to go!!

I love them but they should be kept to well organised displays only. The general public should not be allowed access to them so freely.

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 22/10/2012 20:39

As above pointless, noisy, dangerous stupid things.

Pretty at an organised display from a window.

Where I live they start in October and go on well past nov 5th, adolescents letting them off in the street. Hmm

My poor ChestyDog hates them, have just got the DAP out.

kinkyfuckery · 22/10/2012 20:39

Proper organised displays, with proper fireworks and not disappointing ones, I love! I love the oooh-ing and aaah-ing, closest to sex I get these days!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/10/2012 20:40

I don't like them in back gardens. The one nowadays are far too big for little gardens. If people were to stand the requisite distance back they'd have to leg it over the fence to their neighbours down the road to do so!

I love fireworks, at an organised display. I do feel that it shouldn't be quite so easier to buy them in every shop, especially when teenagers get hold of them. There has been an incident locally where kids have set fire to someones garage (attached to their house) with fireworks whilst the family were sleeping.

bureni · 22/10/2012 20:40

I like the organised displays but hate it when fireworks just go of at random, thankfully the police have taken a much harder line this year and are arresting and charging anyone they catch with fireworks.

heronsfly · 22/10/2012 20:41

I hate fireworks in back gardens, they should be banned,no objections to public displays though. I'm enjoying the Christmas ads, and I am already waiting for someone to start a snow thread Grin

stargirl1701 · 22/10/2012 20:42

Love them! Grin

Portofino · 22/10/2012 20:42

Like others said - organised displays excellent - pathetic noisy shit in people's back gardens should be banned.
