I have a 2.8 year old & a 4 week old. Was chatting to my neighbour the other day & she mentioned she was getting a cleaner in once a fortnight. I asked how much it cost & was pleasantly surprised. With a bit of financial juggling we could afford it. I mentioned it to my husband & he basically vetoed it because 'he wasn't keen on the idea' without really giving a good reason other than it would be a stranger in the house. He said he would pull his finger out & do more cleaning (which I've heard before) himself & refused to discuss it further. Is he BU?

Yes. Unless he does actually do some cleaning.
Give him a week to prove himself then book her if necessary?

Hmmm, definitely give him an ultimatum - you'll book the cleaner in a couple of weeks unless you see he's actually doing more cleaning.

YANBU - he can't refuse to discuss it that's not the way it works! It's not exactly an unreasonable request if you can afford it! the big fat meanie

I have a 12 week old baby and getting a cleaner in once a fortnight has been a godsend - quite frankly I have no idea how I would have the time to do it myself with a bf baby who feeds every 2 hours the piglet I just have one DC and take my hat off to those with more than that! How you juggle it all is beyond me!

Agree with above, see how much cleaning he actually does! Consistently too not just one offs to appease you!
