Two bloody word searches, find the topic words. (WW2) What is the point? What will she not learn if I do it for her?

How old is she? If it's Secondary YABU. Grin

Ouluckyduck · 18/10/2012 19:19

Yr 5. She already did 20 sentences about something else.

Just do it then. Get it out of the way. Smile

I would do it, as long as she understands the words it doesn't really matter if she can find them in a wordsearch or not

WiseKneeHair · 18/10/2012 19:24

Why can't she do it?Confused
I'm not a great believer in homework for primary aged children, but mine usually do it. If I think it's totally pointless, then they just don't do it. I don't really see the point of me doing it for them.

I have a dyslexic DD and a dyspraxic DS.

I bloody hate it when they get word searches for homework, and I always "help".

You should have guidelines for how long she's supposed to spend on homework. If she's already spent the time doing the sentences, write a note to that effect to the teacher. Probably a good idea to make sure she is familiar with the words even if she doesn't have time to do the word search.

ContinentalKat · 18/10/2012 19:31

I wouldn't do it. Put a note in her homework book explaining exactly why she did not do it.
Nobody benefits from you doing it for her.

KenLeeeeeee · 18/10/2012 19:33

I'd do it, but only because I love wordsearches.

Sparklingbrook · 18/10/2012 19:34

But sending it in not done will just cause a load of problems. It's a wordsearch. It's Year 5. Life's too short.

k2togm1 · 18/10/2012 19:36

Go for it! She'll also learn that you care enough to help her.

freddiefrog · 18/10/2012 19:38

I'd do it, I love doing word searches

Ouluckyduck · 18/10/2012 21:04

I would normally get her to do it but it's a really busy week, plus it gets my goat ax I can see no real learning benefit whatsoever.
