A Facebook friend liked this page so it appeared in my newsfeed and I can't stop thinking about it.

It's a campaign to get pubs and clubs to use plastic instead of glass bottles, started by a woman widowed after her husband was attacked in April.

I know that getting rid of glass won't stop the problem of drunken violence altogether but God knows what will do that. It might save a few lives though.

I'd rather plastic litter than glass...there's a fair amount of broken glass on the streets around here come Monday morning. And surely the same rules could be implemented for plastic as glass - no leaving the pub/club with a bottle or cup.
