AIBU to not vote this time?

I have voted in every election since I was 18, even when away an uni and had to postal vote, even when I was massively pregnant, I take it quite seriously.

BUT I don't want to vote for a police commissioner. I actually find it fairly offensive that at a time when the government are cutting millions from welfare, schools, police etc they are wasting millions on the election and creation of these meaningless posts.

One of the national newspapers said they had had to spend an extra £25million or so to have an election now rather than wait until next May. Why? Why not wait until May and save the millions? Why is this needed so urgently when schools and hospitals apparently aren't.

So I'm not going to vote. AIBU?

With all the police corruption I was quite glad they were doing something to tackle it, but I see where you're coming from OP.

YANBU. It doesn't seem like anybody will be able to make any kind of informed decision anyway due to the lack of coverage Confused
