To think that saying "hash tag" before everything you say is NOT cool?

I went out tonight with dh to a lovely restaurant. A group of 10 23-27 year olds came in rather drunk, one male had a voice like a fog horn and said "hash tag" before every thing he said. Am I getting old and uncool or is that just plain stupid?

Go with the flow and get down with the kids you square (the spelling in that was atrociously good, sorry)

AgentZigzag · 07/10/2012 00:21

And it was a bit 1960's as well Blush

I'm not down with the children.

LadyBeagleEyes · 07/10/2012 00:22

####Now you must have guessed it would go this way Op Grin.
But I've yet to see people saying it out loud.
Yes, plain stupid IMO but I'm not cool.

DeepPurple · 07/10/2012 00:26

He was saying it before every thing he said eg: hashtag good wine. Hash tag OMG Sarah looks good tonight.

On Facebook, twitter, MySpace etc it's all good. Actually SAYING it?

So I'm not just getting old then? Grin

I wish I was better at making my mouth do this Confused and my eyebrow do this Hmm in real life.

AgentZigzag · 07/10/2012 00:32

I've used strikethrough from on here talking to DH.

But only with DH because he knows WTF I'm on about.

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 07/10/2012 00:33

I hate it.

I hate it on my TV. I want to watch a programme without Twitter references all over it. Surely it's a form of advertising and a sneaky one at that.

DeepPurple · 07/10/2012 00:33

WTF in front of children is kind of acceptable if you need to get a point across. LOL is not.

OP posts:
AgentZigzag · 07/10/2012 00:33

Yeah Quad, I've used the hmm face Grin

Again, and I stress this, only with DH. I'm not a fucking weirdo Grin

AgentZigzag · 07/10/2012 00:34

I loathe 'what's trending at the moment'

SneakyNuts · 07/10/2012 00:36

I hate all this shite.

And I'm 21.

EmBOOsa · 07/10/2012 00:39

I don't think I could have resisted yelling at that bloke! What a twat!

arthurfowlersallotment · 07/10/2012 00:39

I know someone who says LOL.

Quadrangle · 07/10/2012 00:40

Yes it would be good to be able to do strikethrough in the middle of a conversation. Remember in the late 80s people used to show speech marks by holding up two fingers on each hand and flexing them? Well you could hold your arm horizontally in front of your face when saying the bit you wanted to strikethrough but it would make you look bonkers Grin
