Calm, cool, collected and very dignified in her response.

Brilliant response. I actually imagined her shrugging her shoulders and just saying "F* you mate, I don't give a rat's arse what you think of me".

As long as she can do the job well that's all that matters.

Good for her! I think her response was dignified, but I also can't help thinking that even responding to that idiot gave him more attention than he deserved.

It was a good response and she turned it round in a really good way, to give advice. Although, easier said than done, as always with that kind of thing.

But this kind of thing would never ever have been picked up on at my school. Ofsted "outstanding", laminated bullying procedure up in every classroom, teachers couldn't give a shit as long as the troublemakers weren't tossing pens at them. As someone who's been bullied, this kind of thing wouldn't even have registered on my mind. This would have been one of the neutral-ish comments. I would even have been grateful for the mildness of it. She has every right to call it bullying but it sits uncomfortably with me somehow.
Irrational reaction, sorry, it was a very ignorant and unpleasant email, but that's very low key "bullying". It was private for one thing. I would have rather she'd drawn attention to the point that he tries to divert attention from the nastiness of it by couching it in fake concern, very sneaky and underhand.

Obesity is a problem and I weigh waaay over20 stones. I am killing myself.

Interesting that the USA have an anti bullying month.

We now have a governor at school with responsibility to see the anti bullying policy becomes active not just words on paper. Much needed position sadly
