Is Breast Best?

A programme just about to start on BBC1 where some woman called Cherry Healey speaks to women who are for or against it.

Just thought someone might be interested?

Well (and I'm being serious) AIBU to be freaked out that my Jack Russel Terrier has just said the word "Redbridge" 3 times in row?

He's never spoken before??

YY, the breastmilk on cereal thing irritated the hell out of the rest of us!!

Tis a repeat, it was first on when DS1 was a few days old, in a way it's thanks to that program that I perserved with feeding him so long, as I figured if that young woman who could cope with the pain so long so could I. Although we did end up mix feeding.

Now feeding DS2, right at this very moment I think breast is best, if you're lazy like me and can't be bothered with that getting out of bed to sort out a bottle, just managed to feed and change DS2 without the need to get vertical or out from under my duvet. Although I do often feel quite jealous of FFers who can just leave their babies and go to the hairdresser!

I really don't care how other people feed their children though!

I'm lucky in that I find breastfeeding really easy. Though I am subject to plenty off comments from my DP's family. His SIL said it was 'wrong'.

His DM was talking about the effort needed to make up formula in the seventies and I said 'would you have breastfed?' and she responded 'oh God no'!

There's no way I would have been scrubbing bottles in the small hours. Im far too lazy to ff.

I just don't understand the fascination and fear of breastfeeding in Britain.
