Well not me exactly.
And I may well get told off for putting this in AIBU but I put AIBU so pfft
Bravissimo have recycling bins in their shops. They collect bras for selling cheaply in developing countries. Apparently bras are difficult to manufacture cheaply so they are beyond the price range of many women.
I read an article a while back that women in Africa are less likely to be raped and suffer other sexual assaults if they own underwear. This has stuck with me.
Today I took my darling girl's little bras to the shop in Margaret Street in W1. Her tiny little teenage bras that she never really got to wear. I have been hanging on to them for over 6 years. It was time to put them to good use, I cant think of a better one. It breaks my heart that my girl didn't get to grow into the amazing woman I know she would be. I like to think of her stuff giving a young girl in poverty some sort of security.
I took a load of my badly fitting ones too.
The money raised goes to Tommy's so it seems like a win - win to me.
So instead of chucking your old bras will you think about donating them? If they are too knackered for resale they are taken apart and recycled.
AFAIK the whole thing is legit, Bravissimo and Tommy's have put their name to it so I feel pretty confident.
