As in 'a nude shoe'.

AIBU to think this is ridiculous fashionspeak and should have no place in normal conversation.

Let's be honest, it's beige, isn't it?

And why is it always 'a shoe'. Don't people wear both anymore?

You can charge £50 more for 'a nude shoe' than ' a pair of beige shoes.'

millionlovesongslater · 24/09/2012 17:27

LOLZ.

I completely agree. Being half Jamaican, I don't look 'nude' coloured when I'm nude. This whole fashion speak trend is very very racist and, as such, should be dispensed with post haste.

ripsishere · 24/09/2012 17:27

Whatever they name it, they are ugly fuckers.

SaraBellumHertz · 24/09/2012 17:27

Nude is much lighter than beige.

Same degree of difference between royal and navy blue.

millionlovesongslater · 24/09/2012 17:27

^ That was sarcasm about the racist thing. I don't think it's racist, it just gets on my fucking nerves

BunnyLebowski · 24/09/2012 17:27

It's the wanky 'fashion singular' innit.

A trouser.

A lip.

A shoe.

Fuck off you pretentious twunts.

Themumsnot · 24/09/2012 17:31

Good point Million, although to be fair I don't think anyone's skin colour much resembles 'nude'. They need to invent a new shade called 'pasty with a hint of freckle' for mine.

OP posts:
susiedaisy · 24/09/2012 17:32

million hadn't thought of it like that, I hate the term nude to describe a colour of something!

MarianForrester · 24/09/2012 17:32

That's funny, was just about to post that nude point: in my case would be papery white with hint of grey- delightful Smile

Do think the description is stupid

susiedaisy · 24/09/2012 17:33

Pasty and blue veiny would be mine!!Grin

PurplePidjin · 24/09/2012 17:33

Million - ditto flesh-coloured bras. Doesn't work for either me (v pale) or SIL (Jamaican) :o

SuperB0F · 24/09/2012 17:37

It's probably to make it sound sexy. The Daily Mail's obsession with nude shoes has killed that notion stone dead though.

scentednappyhag · 24/09/2012 17:38

Sign me up for a pair of Pasty and Blue Veinies too :D

freddiefrog · 24/09/2012 17:40

I've noticed the singular shoe/trouser a lot lately

Also 'colour way'

It's pretentious wankery
