Before printing it?
Sorry for the DM link obviously. Cute story, but we don't know what the bloke has done and it sound like the may have kids. Bit of pressure on the poor woman if he's done something really awful?

Not really.

It's a public interest story. The van is out there for all to see.
Why not run with it?

minceorotherwise · 20/09/2012 08:51

I suppose it's not really an aibu in thinking that. Of course I can see why the paper would run with it. More, I feel a bit sorry for the woman. It's not your average hearts and flowers proposal if he's done something that made her leave

I can see your point about feeling sorry for the woman involved, she's had no say in this and it's her life printed on the side of a van.

But this method to me screams "look at us!", drama llama type couple who'll thrive on the whole thing. I'll wiggle my judgey pants a bit higher and clutch my pearls on this. How uncouth! Grin

minceorotherwise · 20/09/2012 09:41

Ooh I haven't heard anyone say uncouth since my mother in 1986!
It so is

It is one of my favorite words. I am rather uncouth myself though so I do say it tongue in cheek.

minceorotherwise · 20/09/2012 15:47

I think my mother was actually referring to me when she said it Grin

I see your point, but I think they have a right to print it as it's out there in the public eye anyway!

nickeldaisical · 20/09/2012 15:52

I wrote uncouth on a thread earlier this week.

it's a good word.

now couth hasn't been used for a few centuries, I think.

cakebot · 20/09/2012 15:52

I was about to say that you could probably say that about almost everything the DM has ever run, but in this case, I think they did have a right to print it. It will be interesting to know what happened though...

WinklyFriedChicken · 20/09/2012 15:54

The DM is vile, not loving the "Tulisa really is a ?chav in a tracksuit? as she heads to Tesco in sportswear with her dog in tow" link in the sidebar

minceorotherwise · 20/09/2012 16:17

I know. I do apologise for tempting you into clicking on the link
