To be furious with dh

I have just spent the last hour getting me ready for possibility of supply work and dd ready for school. At this moment in time dh is lying in bed listening to his radio. He is not working at present. AIBU to think that he could actually get his arse out of bed and help me get dd ready rather than me run around like a blue arsed fly at 6 months pregnant?

Rant over!

YANBU. Saying that, if one of us is off and in go slow mode, it's usually better of the one on go slow stays the fuck out of the way! I'm more effective when not tripping over a ball scratching bear whilst making sandwiches. (and vice versa, without the balls).

Tee2072 · 19/09/2012 08:29

Well, did you say 'get up and help' or did you just quietly fume? Perhaps he thought he was staying out of the way?

wishingonadream · 19/09/2012 08:31

He knows that I hate him to listening to radio and have mentioned that it would be nice if he helped - happens every school day. Also if I do get a call for work he is nowhere near ready to get dd to school! I think i may smash the radio!

Stop 'mention(ing) it would be nice if he helped' and say 'get out of bed and help me.'

If you need help, ask for it. Directly.

ENormaSnob · 19/09/2012 08:48

Why is he not working?

LydiasMiletus · 19/09/2012 09:00

you hate him listening to the radio? Really?
Go upstairs tell him you need/want help.

Fakebook · 19/09/2012 09:03

Yanbu. You need to tell HIM though. Not us.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 19/09/2012 09:08

Tell him.

Or better still, get DD to run in and jump on his bed and scream in his ear Grin

TantrumsAndGoldAndOrange · 19/09/2012 09:11

Why do you hate him listening to the radio?

IvanaHumpalot · 19/09/2012 09:17

Tell him to get out of bed and help.

What about alternating days, he gets up one day you the other?

SkinnyMarinkADink · 19/09/2012 09:26

I spent years figuring out how to deal with these situations...

A simple. get out of bed and help me you lazy sod does the trick. if that doesn't then a quick shout in a stern voice about going on strike is sure to be successful

BlazerOfGlory · 19/09/2012 09:29

don't be so wet. Hand him the child and tell him to get the fuck up.
