The spelling lists that I have displayed in my kitchen for the last 8 years have always been in portrait format.

ChaoticBoy's new spelling have come home in a landscape format.

SIOB.

They are ruining the line of my kitchen walls. RUINING.

Sad

WIBU to I ask them to revert to the old way?

There is no option - you will have to build a new kitchen extension to accommodate landscape spellings.

squeakytoy · 17/09/2012 22:51

Put it up portrait and turn your head on one side Grin

Happy to help! Wink

McHappyPants2012 · 17/09/2012 22:51

Yanbu complain how dare they change a solid system

ChaosTrulyReigns · 17/09/2012 22:52

I may ask for an EGM of the guvnors.

That's saved for portant stuff, ain't it?

If they are spelling children as choldren, you have worse problems Grin

It is always true that anyone writing a spelling/grammar thread MUST fail at spelling or grammar. It is a rule.

iheartdusty · 17/09/2012 22:53

scan
rotate
reformat
change font, if you wish (esp if they have changed that too)
print

seeker · 17/09/2012 22:56

Ignore. Everyone knows that learning spellings and spelling tests have absolutely nothing to do with being able to spell.

So bin the innovations with a clear conscience.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 17/09/2012 22:58

Ooh, yay! I have always wanted to come onto a thread about children and spelling and post this:

OP YANBU Angry How can children be expected to learn with this shoddy attitude to the good old traditional way what was going on before?

This country is going to the dogs I tell you.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 17/09/2012 23:11

Glad to be of service, LRD.

I agree, the school system is teetering on an abiss.

Wink

thepeoplesprincess · 17/09/2012 23:13

TBH mate, if they've been up there for the past eight years, then you're probably safe to bin them anyway.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 17/09/2012 23:14

Abiss sounds as if it should be a girl's name. I like it.

starfishmummy · 17/09/2012 23:25

Yabvvu. Everyone knows that you should copy out the lists in your very best calligraphy, in real pen and ink, before hanging on the wall (preferably in matching frames) Grin

TalcAndTurnips · 17/09/2012 23:33

Well I'd be marching straight in there and telling those good-for-nothing hippies just what I thought of their fancy page layout ways.

Landscape format? What sort of poncey Guardian-reading nonsense is that? I my day we had a banda machine - and we were grateful. Kids these days. I dunno.

Fecking long holidays and they can't spell no nor nuffink. And they all earn over 100k it's true - Julie from Fags & Mags told me.

IvanaHumpalot · 18/09/2012 08:56

I would make the paper people holding hands chain out of the new and improved landscape format. Decorative and informative.

Change cut outs as festive seasons dictates.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 18/09/2012 09:57

Ooh.

Paper people.

I could do that.

TAT, there will be no marching. I am too timid to Rick the boat.

TalcAndTurnips · 18/09/2012 15:25

Chaos - on how to Rick the boat.

I've never once marched into 'that school'. My MIL seems to have spent many years doing so. Mr Turnip as his siblings must have been little so-and-sos. Shock
