To think this is a bit questionable

Id just like to know whether this is right or not

In my new contract at work they've said that if we want to take a second job elsewhere, we have to let them know first so they can decide whether or not it's suitable FOR THEM for me to have the second job.

Is this right, legally I mean?

In my opinion as long as it doesn't effect my job I should have to basically 'ask permission' from my current employers?

Cowthy its not generally a problem if your jobs aren't affecting each other

I've done retail along side NHS (both had this in the contract).

DH has two jobs which are the same, but as they're quite far apart its not a conflict of interest.

Different of course if you're working next door for the competition, but it generally doesn't stop you from working more, it just has some sensible conditions
