It's all booked and paid for. DH will be more than fine looking after the DC and is looking forward to having them by himself.

But i feel so guilty and nervous, i have not been away by myself for over 10 years and it is making me feel sick.

aibu to go away

Yanbu to go away. Go, relax, enjoy yourself.

You have my permission. Grin

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 13/09/2012 21:14

YANBU. Not in the slightest. I go at least once or twice a year (geeky conventions for TV shows that DH or any other male wouldn't be caught dead at) Does them good to have time without us tbh, and does you good to concentrate on nothing but yourself for a weekend.

wigglesrock · 13/09/2012 21:15

Go, go, run as fast as you can, I'm very Envy

Your dh is looking forward to it, the children will be fine. It you don't want to go because you don't fancy it, nothing to do with feeling guilty about going without your dh or children then cancel it but not out of guilt. If you go and have a desperate time, don't do it again Grin.

Are you going completely on your own or with other people?

pictish · 13/09/2012 21:16

Yanbu. Now bolt!

AnyFucker · 13/09/2012 21:18

give over

stop martyring yourself

have a blast, and don't phone home every fucking 5 minutes

if you were away with me, I would take your phone off you and let you have it for 5 minutes twice a day

McHappyPants2012 · 13/09/2012 21:20

going with friends for a birthday celebration. I just feeling guilty of leaving the DC for the whole weekend especially as they have been to school all week and i haven't spent much time with them with juggling school, work and household things and haven't seen DH since monday due to crazy hours at work.

They'll be fine, honestly, honestly, honestly Grin But if they're like mine, they'll be expecting a present back Shock Enjoy yourself.

pictish · 13/09/2012 21:25

I agree with not being a martyr. You're not a facility...so go and have fun with your friends and stop meeping.

LittleHarrysMum · 13/09/2012 21:27

Do not feel guilty! My dh went away Tuesday morning and came back tonight at 7.30 and is now in bed! I am off to Spain tomorrow night until Sunday night ( best friends wedding) kids will be fine and relationship won't fall apart. Enjoy!!!

McHappyPants2012 · 13/09/2012 21:30

Will you have a bathroom all to yourself? Will you have a TV with a remote? Will you have a big bed to stretch out in, and not fight over the duvet? Will anybody be waking you up at the crack of dawn????

Shakey1500 · 13/09/2012 21:30

Guilt begone!

It will be a wasted emotion and o'er cloud your experience. So let it go like a helium balloon, soak up the fun, relax, be you and cherish every child-free nanosecond like it's going out of fashion Grin

SmethwickBelle · 13/09/2012 21:32

The only unreasonable thing is that you haven't done it sooner by the sound of it! Have a lovely time, it sounds like a very well earned break.

DO NOT hurry home early. Seriously. It will all be waiting for you when you get back so make the most of it.

CremeEggThief · 13/09/2012 21:37

Go and enjoy yourself! I bet you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner .

AnyFucker · 13/09/2012 21:39

yes, you are being silly

now stop it and plan your lovely weekend

what you will eat, what you will drink, how you will hog the bed, the tv remote, the uninteruppted everything

and quit whining about the poor hard-done-by blokey and dc

McHappyPants2012 · 13/09/2012 21:50
