""First world problem" has taken over from "entitled" as the most overused on mumsnet.

It makes me wonder what other sort of problems we're supposed to have...you know since we do live in the first world?

It just seems suddenly to be trotted out on every other thread.

First world and third world (I always wondered where the 2nd world was?) are outdated and non-u phrases anyway now. Developed and developing nations are much preferred.
Just another reason for it to be a twatty phrase.

2nd world was all the Communist countries. (I knew that A level geography would come in useful some time!)

It is really annoying. And it's the same few posters who pop up over and over again that are saying it.

Last I heard the 3rd World was now the majority world, no 2nd World, because of the fall of Communism. First world problems are all we have left.
