£160.00 - is that good or bad.

We got there around 6.30 am and were told "that is was too late to get two picthes" together as trading had started at 5.00 am......

Do people never sleep and how can you see what you are buying in the dark ???

Sadly, we didn't have enough space to properly display our crap traeasures - but hey ho - I am older and wiser and shall never unknowingly open my car boot unless I know who is behind me !!!

Ooh that's fantastic - well done.
DN who's 6 did a boot sale of his stuff and was delighted with his takings, "Millions!. £21 Aunty Choco"!

Sounds very good to me. As long as you were 100% sure about getting rid of everything. Its more than you'd get throwing it away.

My mum and dad did one, and he walked away with £20.00

ChiefOwl · 09/09/2012 21:37

Sadly I think eBay has killed the boot sale, think you did well

McHappyPants2012 · 09/09/2012 21:39

Well done, got any tips for boot sale virgins

CaliforniaLeaving · 09/09/2012 21:40

I think Boot sales may be coming back, so many people are sick of eBay, I refuse to sell on there anymore, the fees are getting crazy and some buyers are bat shit crazy.
Congrats on making money at your first car boot sale.

I love a booty! Took DD's for a wander with £10 in our pocket today, we do the lazy bones ones so we don't need to get up early.

DD bought some books, puzzles and more bloody Ello, she did make me laugh when one lady told her she wanted £10 for some aqua beads. DD wandered off muttering "crazy lady, she will be taking them home with her that's for sure"

..shame is - I came back with a near car full - I am having to secrete boxes around the house so my partner doesn't see them - have you ever tried to "artfully" disguise stuff ... throws are good !!!

With hindsight I should have never taken my all Son's books - "read" Stormbreaker and all the complete sets of teen boy reading material etc etc and such to a Car Boot Sale - pre-teens and teens are still in bed and never go to Car Boots... and Mums can never remember which ones in the set that have already...

I had loads of old Victorian and Edwarian glass - doesn't sell either... but caught the sunlight wonderfully today - LOL !!!

Best sellers were old jeans, clothes and junk - which I would have dumped in a Clothes Bank but somehow got into the mix.....

I shall be tripping over these boxes until the Village School has the Autumn Jumble Sale - I hate throwing stuff out when it could be used somewhere - but I also hate the fact that you argue the toss with folks over 50p for a really decent item..
