poo through the letter box

I live in an old building converted into flats. The guy next door threw a party last night starting at 9pm going on until 5am. 100 + people turned
up and enjoyed crappy rnb music, the dj they brought was a right idiot, shouting and being generally a moron.

I called police twice but they didn't do anything, said they couldn't despite there being drugs involved (I could smell the smoke wafting from their window into ours). I called the council and so did three other neighbours. The noise control from council came and didn't do anything. they said they will send a strong worded letter.

My 6 weeks old baby and I had a night from hell as a result.

Now I am considering throwing my baby's new poo filled nappy through their letter box (the letter box is one of those metal one stuck to the wall outside our building). Should I? It is a very nice mustard yellow poo, not too runny not too solid, contained in a size 2 Pampers nappy, it smells quite sour (as I breastfeed and am on antibiotics).

Any other evil ideas also welcome.

Yeah. That's a great idea Hmm

trumpeter · 09/09/2012 11:26

It probably felt like 100 people and you'll be over sensitive to the noise because you're the mum of a six week old. Let it go, enjoy the silence of this glorious Sunday morning and relax instead of stewing in your own juices. Maybe some time in the future you'll possibly throw a party and wind up the neighbours. Living in flats is a compromise.

LadyBeagleEyes · 09/09/2012 11:28

If it was just one night you should have just sucked it up.
People are allowed to have parties you know.
If they are constantly causing a disturbance then report them to the proper authorities.
Why would you do such a disgusting thing with the nappy?

TheMonster · 09/09/2012 11:29

He will only retaliate, so it is not worth it.put some nice loud music on this morning, though.

diavlo · 09/09/2012 11:32

I think it is pretty clear that the op is joking!

mumblechum1 · 09/09/2012 11:34

I wouldn't. Chances are your baby will keep your neighbour awake some night(s).

It is desperately annoying though, I do feel for you. We're next door to a pub which v v occasionally has discos and I get homicidal at 3 in the morning when they're all shouting and bawling outside our door

warzonemummy · 09/09/2012 11:35

There were over 100 people :( the whole road was full of cars. Even the council's noise people confirmed that it was upwards of 100 people in there. the noise was so loud that everything in my flat was vibrating and things on bookshelf was shaking. It was full on night club calibre sound system.

Interestingly, the same couple that threw the party usually disturb everyone by beating each other up. Last week my other neighbours called police twice because of the DV related noise.

By the way, it is very unlikely that I throw the nappy. I love my baby's poo too much to throw it down these idiots' letterbox.

So, you told police you suspected there were drugs involved, over 100 people in a flat making a horrendous din and they didn't even come out?

PseudoBadger · 09/09/2012 12:15

If it was that loud in the flat then the Noise Team would have served a notice. Did they come in your flat?

bobbledunk · 09/09/2012 12:24

Do they rent or own the flat? If they rent, you could make complaints to their landlord about all the previous incidents and get all the neighbours to do that every time they cause a disturbance.

Sounds like hell, you poor thing, you must be in a terrible state, it's upsetting enough to be exhausted from caring for a newborn, to have to suffer this on top of it.... you would not be unreasonable to do anything to these selfish cunts.

Sneezecakesmama · 09/09/2012 13:41

I second the complaint to the landlord if they are renting. This does work I promise.

marriedinwhite · 09/09/2012 13:55

It's only acceptable to return other people's poo via letter boxes; it is usually dog poo left on your property and not cleared up by the owner - even then it is more usual to leave it on their doorstep with a note saying "your dog left this behind and I thought you might want it back."

Don't be silly OP.

warzonemummy · 09/09/2012 14:01

I did call and explained everything to the police and they did not turn up despite promising. Just called hem again to chase them up and they said someone else had also called them. The lady on the phone didn't know why the police didn't turn up.
We have decided to call their landlord through the buikdig management company tomorrow.
Thank god I do need much sleep and am feeling fine. So is the baby. But neighbours all look like zombies today due to lack of sleep.

Probably best to turn up your stereo full belt with whatever music is the most opposite to RnB (possible heavy rock?) and leave the house. Chances are they might be sleeping it off this aft. Also keep reporting any volatile arguing, it could save a life.

Lolwhut · 09/09/2012 14:11

Keep complaining to the council. They should have done something about it there and then and they would have had the authority to do something if they had wanted.
I would complain to the council, a joint letter from you and your other neighbours would work best. I would also send one to your councillor.
The council will always suggest you deal withit yourself inthe first instance but i wouldn't want to get involved with the nieghbours if I were you. You needtobe reasonable but very persistent. Note everything, getthe council to confirmwhat theywill andwont do inwriti g and try and get your nieghbours on board. Don't let the council fob you off.
You may have to declare any disputes with nieghbours if you sell you flat.

Lolwhut · 09/09/2012 14:11

Sorry for the typos

Narked · 09/09/2012 14:12

You don't get to have a loud party in your home, with a DJ, that goes until 5am if you live in a block of flats. It's not ok.

No poo, but I'd recommed 6 am hoovering along the party wall every Sunday for a month.

LadyWidmerpool · 09/09/2012 14:22

Did the party upset you more than the DV?

valiumredhead · 09/09/2012 14:26

Urghhh poor you, I used to live next door to someone who had paying parties that used to end at about 8am, they even used to empty the house of furniture and roll up the carpets and have bouncers on the door - police did nothing. Interestingly since moving out of London I have noticed that anything like that get stopped almost immediately where I live now.

I wouldn't retaliate, it'll make things worse.

TheEnthusiasticTroll · 09/09/2012 14:46

what a vile thought Hmm i hope you arte joking but still thats a horrible thing to think.

MAYBELATERNOWIMBUSY · 10/09/2012 01:42

if u can (stand it) a terrible pop record (ackadoo?) played on a loop from morning till night usually reduces most people to blithering idiots
