To let DCs see their cousin?

We live about 4 hours drive away from all my family including nieces and a nephew whom my eldest DD (3) adores but only sees sporadically.

We are here just for one day (breaking a journey) at my mums and won't be back until December so obviously DD1 was massively excited to see her cousins.

Dsis called last night to say one DN has impetigo caught from other DNs! Apparently 3 cousins are clear of it now but 1 still has it on her bottom.

As we won't be visiting again until Christmas I'm so tempted to still see them but is that totally stupid? It's in a covered up area but DN is only 4 so could still itch and then touch DD? I also have bf DD2 (3 months) and couldnt take the cream to clear it of I got it.

Gah we should stay clear? Or see them?

See the ones who are clear?

No sorry there are two sets of two (from my two sisters).

The clear DNs are at their dads this weekend so can't see them. The other "set" who we can see 1 is clear the other still has it.

Impetigo is awful I would stay totally clear of anyone who has it or even has had it in the past couple of weeks. I had it once and its made me really paranoid about it though.

If only on the bottom I don't see the problem as long as the child with it washes her hands after touching her bottom. If you know to look out for impetigo spots and get antibiotic cream from GP at the first sight of any red spots i see no problem, impetigo only becomes difficult to treat (and even then you're only taking oral antibiotics) if you don't catch it early.
You can usually take antibiotic cream and penicillin tablets if breastfeeding.
