A BBC1 childrens programme from the late 80's that had a boy called Nicholas and featured a Narnia type house.The Christmas theme and all the nativity animals going into the church is all I can remember, but would love to share it with thr DC.Thankyou!

Oh, don't think the boy was called nicholas in box of delights. Do remember little sir nicholas though, def could be that.

no but i do remember one about a girl in a big house and a moondial that sent her to another time twas very good

and a mtv show with a real duckling who was a dectective who often had a brief case or magnifying glass selotaped to his wing his boss was a ginuapig who was selotaped to a wheelchair that wasnt good

Was it the TV series of Toms Midnight Garden? That was amazing, I love the film too.

I also remember the moon dial one as well.

Does sound like Box of Delights. There was a bit with a wolf looking out of the window that scared the bejeezus out of me as a child!

jesus possibly no seriously there really was a program like that,but only one other person who ive mentioned it to(and ive asked loads of people) thinks they know what program i mean and ive tried googling stuff like 'mtv duck show' or 'dectective duck' but never find anything.

it was only a few mins long on late at night when sky tv was really new. im sure i do remember it because at the time i was dreadfully upset about the guinipig being selotaped down.

yep yes indeedy i do,ive just checked you tube. ive been trying to figure out what its called for about 10 years.

after watching it on you tube i have to confess that my mind clearly made up the selotape bit as its clearly not,perhaps its glued

Definitely not the Box of Delights, no "Nicholas" character, nor any scene with nativity animals entering the church. However, they're awesome books (The Midnight Folk / Box of Delights) and the BBC drama was great
