To expect licorice allsorts to have a balanced mix of allsorts, not just square sandwich ones?

I have just opened a bag of allsorts.
Not one round coconut one, and only 2 bobbly ones. And they've shrunk.

And I've just eaten them all (in the vain hope there would be more selection at the bottom of the bag)

Bastard Bassetts.

When I was about 10 I wrote to Bassetts because I had a bag of nearly all brown sandwich ones and no bobbly ones. They sent me a £10 voucher back with their apologies Wink

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 06/09/2012 19:28

But I'm 52. Sad

will they understand my disappointment?

Tell them you're 10 and write the letter with your left hand.

RuleBritannia · 06/09/2012 19:29

Weren't there any licorice rolls?

LineRunner · 06/09/2012 19:30

Make sure the envelope has some kind of disappointed brown saliva stain on it.

CelstialNavigation · 06/09/2012 19:31

YANBU. And what's with the preponderance of raisins in Revels? If I wanted a bag of chocolate raisins, I would buy a bag of chocolate raisins.

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 06/09/2012 19:31

Lots of licorice rolls.
But no coconut ones (sob)

The bassett ones are rubbish! Try marks and spencers! Half the price and better selection

orangeandlemons · 06/09/2012 19:33

Ugh ugh! Bobbly ones Be grateful there were only 2!

Merle · 06/09/2012 19:39

I've noticed this. Do you think they did some kind of customer survey, and have adjusted the proportions of the aniseed ones and the licorice rolls?

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 06/09/2012 19:41

I think it's the people in the factory, scoffing all the nice ones.
Probably have cheeeks like chipmunks.

I hate the sandwiches Sad

YANBU, and if you want to start a petition, I'll back you all the way.

Anonymumous · 06/09/2012 20:27

Oooh, that sounds like my perfect bag of Allsorts! I detest the bobbly ones and the coconut ones are a bit 'meh'. Next time you get a bag like that, send it to me!

(Although I have to say that I have found the Bassetts Allsorts too sweet the last few times I've had them - I don't like them as much as I used to. Has anyone else noticed this? Did they change the recipe, or did my taste buds just grow up?)

mum11970 · 06/09/2012 20:33

I'll join the petition too. My favs are the bobbly, liquorice and coconut ones, would prefer just to have 2 sandwiches.

directoroflegacy · 06/09/2012 20:35

I LOVE these but if I eat a whole bag I get a headache!!

thebeesnees79 · 06/09/2012 20:40

licorice rolls are the best mmmmm

PurpleCrazyHorse · 06/09/2012 21:44

Mmmm... bobbly ones :) They're my favourite.

Definitely complain. I complained about a bag of Skips that had one giant hard ball of skippy resin in it. They sent me £5 of vouchers and a brand new multi-pack.

Merle · 06/09/2012 21:45

Anonymous I thought they had got sweeter - maybe because they've left the interesting flavours out?

Yokel · 06/09/2012 21:47

You are all perverts. Liquorice is vile, no matter what shape it is.

CaptainVonTrapp · 06/09/2012 22:17

Nightmare. Had the same thing recently. NO coconut ones. Did get some rolls though. On the flipside I've also had a bag with no vile bobbly ones. Yes, I eat quite a lot of allsorts...

Bluebell99 · 06/09/2012 22:25

You have just made me go and open the carton of Lakeland traditional liquified all sorts I had in the cupboard. Only 3 bobbly ones (my favourites) but otherwise a good mix. And Lakeland jelly babies are really lush and fruity :)

Bluebell99 · 06/09/2012 22:30

All bobbly ones and coconut ones now gone and I feel sick!

Spogs (the bobbly ones) are my favourite. I got one bag and there were none in it! Shock Sad Angry

You know you can buy spogs on their own - here! Yum!

NormanTheForeman · 06/09/2012 23:13

How can they call them Allsorts then? Surely they are Licorice All-The-Sames..... Hmm?
