AIB Unusual to worry about this?

Slightly tongue in cheek title but not entirely.

I have noticed that I have started misreading alot of words, even things I read regularly.

My typing is weird too, I struggle to write the right word (I just wrote write as wright before correcting, like I knew there was a W in there but got it mixed up) Its like my mind fills in the blanks but gets them wrong.

Its really hard to explain, like I know that it says Unreasonable but my mind thinks Unusual. I sound crackers dont I? Like I said, its hard to explain.

It doesnt happen all the time but often enough recently that i have started noticing it.

I have always read alot, have a large vocabulary and my spelling was always good but now I have noticed that my spelling is going a bit wobbly too, or I get tenses wrong or their, there, they're mixed up which I never did before. I am beginning to get quite paranoid about proofreading things on here now.

I am getting quite bothered by this as i am only 39. Should I see a doctor or AIBU and over reacting?

I do this!

I also.see something and think its something else. Like the other day I thought I saw a dog on the grass and it was just a small box!

Do you know, I would consult GP to put mind at rest

It'll be nothing, or stress, or an over-abundance of having-to-juggle-and-drop-no-balls, that kinda thing but you'll lose sleep fretting if you don't see GP

Sounds weird but I would go to the opticians...they can see all sorts of issues, and your eyesight could be related to you reading stuff wrong etc

omfgkillmenow · 05/09/2012 23:48

i keep losing the word on the tip of my tongue. I'm 38. Too much else to think about...only got so much brain space... I wouldn't worry

bogeyface · 05/09/2012 23:51

Thanks :)

I hadnt thought of the opticians, will see them first and then see the doctor if they think I should.

I am worried that either I am over or under reacting :o

Little bit if age I would imagine, but definitely get your eyes checked as first port of call, and if you're not stressed or tired have a word with the gp.

I'm prone to this, but am naturally a 'skim' reader so do have to be careful I haven't just read things to read what I want them to say!

There is always the possibility that you're noticing it more because you've noticed iykwim? The corner of my eye clicks sometimes and it's annoying as hell when I notice because i can't unnotice - like the Olympic symbol looking like Lisa Simpson giving a bj.

bogeyface · 05/09/2012 23:57

:o I only saw that after it was mentioned on here and now I cant see anything else!

I think the opticians, and then maybe GP is a good idea. Have you been especially tired lately? Or dieting? There could be quite a few reasons, which aren't necessarily sinister.

See GP.

Probably just nothing - when you start to notice something you often over notice them.

But I would say take 5 mins out to Google antiphospholipid syndrome and see if any of the other symptoms apply. Highly unlikely and I ummed and aahed about whether to mention it - but i've been moaning on and off about the same thing for years and within a few weeks on baby aspirin I feel so much sharper.
