Taylor Lautner which would have been amusing if they'd married!

DO you taylor take taylor to be .... Grin

fluffygal · 03/09/2012 09:25

She was the highest paid female last year apparently, I've hardly heard of her except for her debut song but that's some accomplishment I think!

Mrsjay · 03/09/2012 09:27

Is she more popular in America than here ? one of my daughters has an album but she doesn't seem uber famous here or am i out of touch ?

confusedpixie · 03/09/2012 09:32

I love taylor swift, absolutely adore her and I also think she's a great role model to the current generation of preteens :)

Though I still love pink, who was my role model Grin

And LOL never, actually did laugh out loud at that!

dottyspotty2 · 03/09/2012 09:32

She has had some good songs Mrsjay DD2 quite liked her at one time, have to laugh at a 22 year old woman being described as both a teenager and a girl.

Mrsjay · 03/09/2012 09:35

Though I still love pink, who was my role model

this is quite depressing Grin makes me feel old I remember buying dd her first album when she was in primary school sigh

bakedcheesysausagemeat · 03/09/2012 16:08

Okay, so you might not be her biggest fan, but she is so much better, role model wise, than Rihanna or Katy Perry??? Sweet, lovely and honest!

oh and unlike cheryl whose latest videos have revolved round her in tight clothing

For a woman so young she's certainly been about a bit so not a good example at all if you want a wholesome role model.

It is a well known fact that the trigraph or acronym is wrong.

confusedpixie · 03/09/2012 19:17

Mrsjay: If it makes you feel any better I think your DD may be a bit younger than me if she was in primary when Pinks first album came out! Grin

cardibach · 03/09/2012 19:26

DD 16 loves her. Her dad took her to a gig and said he was very impressed both by her musical ability (he is a musician and composer) and her attitude/approach. I think she is far from a vacuous bimbo, tbh - she writes her own material. SHe may have made some mistakes over boys and now men, but what teenager/young woman hasn't? Her songs also have very positive messages about self worth in them.
Our daughters could do much worse as a role model.

cardibach · 03/09/2012 19:29

Novack I am an English teacher and I see no problem with laugh out loud. Aloud would work too, but sounds a little forced and artificial I think.

thepeoplesprincess · 03/09/2012 19:40

We'll have to agree to disagree on the 'talented musician' bit fellatio. I love a bit of asinine pop as much as the next suburban mum, but I genuinely cannot abide to hear her grating nasal whinge on Heart FM.

nooka · 03/09/2012 23:53

She's a country singer, and thus very big in North America. Last year she was the highest earning pop star world wide at $35m, which even if you don't like her musical genre has to be thought fairly impressive for a 22year old.

I don't think that she is a particularly fantastic role model as I don't want my dd to become a singer, but her songs are fairly positive unlike a large amount of the misogynist drivel that is aimed at teenagers.

dd likes Pink too :)

WildWorld2004 · 04/09/2012 07:16

I find her a bit bland & boring.

Also if the stories about her refusing to leave the kennedy wedding are true then she seems like a bit of a bunny boiler. Not a good role model.

ashleywilliam · 16/11/2012 11:22

taylor swift is my favourite singer i really like her songs.
