Heading into town tomorrow ad I wider how long it's okay for DD to be in stroller for?

I always wonder this as I see children in prams in town. How long is okay/comfortable?

I always use the point they start screaming and kicking their legs Luke a bronco to be a good indicator.

How old is she?

TheHeirOfSlytherin · 01/09/2012 20:40

If they're happy to stay in the pram, leave them. Chances are they won't be happy at all to be put back in it.

She's about a year old, isn't she? Only she'll soon tell you when she's had enough of being in the pushchair and it'll probably be for way less time than could put her at risk. Presumably you aren't planning to be hours and hours and hours anyway but then I don't know many babies this age that would tolerate an unhealthy amount of time in a pushchair without screaming for freedom!

pinkyp · 01/09/2012 20:43

My ds is safer in his, he just runs and runs and he's VERY quick Grin

YoullLaughAboutItOneDay · 01/09/2012 20:44

At that age, until she throws a wobbly and starts pointing aggressively at the floor and saying doooooooooooon in a voice of doom. Or is that just my children?

Pandemoniaa · 01/09/2012 20:44

PS. Second the advice about keeping her in the pushchair until she wants to come out. Once out it's usually the divil of a job to get them back in again!

honeydragon · 01/09/2012 20:44

However long it takes to finish their sausage roll and fruit shoot Grin

louismummy · 01/09/2012 20:47

that depends on how far you need to walk/ how quickly you need to get things done/ how far your lo can walk/ how much shopping you need to get as you can use pram like a trolly/ how long you want to be out... so many variables
I would say at least 2.5 in my experience but it all varies....

I have always tried to make sure that DS can get out for a bit every 1.5hr max, even if its just to sit on a bench and have a drink and a snack.
