Three years ago when we were in a bigger house we (read: husband chose, I payed) bought a ridiculous 50" plasma television. Our lounge was pretty massive so it didn't look too vulgar and to be honest it suited the room. Fast forward to 6 months ago. Due to financial circumstances we are now living in a pretty pokey flat with a tiny living room. This telly looks quite simply ridiculous. Add to that, when I was hoovering yesterday I bumped into it and near sent it flying! God knows what would have happened had it landed on me!
So, ds is moving in with his girlfriend next month and says we can 'look after' his lcd telly for him. I told dh that I was going to sell the monstrosity that is our telly and we could move ds's far more practical one into the living room. Bloody hell, he went nuts! He has put his foot down and said the telly stays. AIBU here? It would possibly sell for a couple of hundred quid, aiding our financial problems a bit too. Why do men get so attached to technology?

Yanbu

TBH 50" is ridiculous even in most bigger houses.

But your DH is clinging to his previous lifestyle with the TV; thats your problem.

Boys' toys. But Yanbu. And you'd adjust to the new size so quickly that you wouldn't likely notice any difference for most of the time within a few days at the outside.

Yes, cozie I said that about the smaller telly. Before this monstrosity we had a 28" CRT thing. I admit it's good for watching films on etc but it's not really something I'd miss. I could use the room in here too. Also, the heat off this thing is crazy, anyone else noticed that? If it's been on for a couple of hours the room is BOILING.

Put it on the wall. And you'll save money on heating in the winter. Grin

Seriously though, you'll get so little for it that it's not worth selling - can't you save money on going out by watching more films and having special 'movie' nights?
