To be annoyed at the new neighbours?

I think in all honesty I may slightly be a little unreasonable but anyway here goes...

Last week (Thursday to be precise) I got new neighbours and since the day they moved in they have been hell bent on having door slamming competitions, screaming matches, early hours of the morning door step conversations, continual barking throughout the day from their 2 dogs the list goes on!! Now there are 6 kids and I fully understand that children = noise particularly in a new house, new area etc, but it's just getting ridiculous :( anyhow back to the point - today when I bumped into the mum on the doorstep I said hello and she completely blanked me!! She couldn't have not heard me or missed me as we were literally next to each other.

So am I being unreasonable to be annoyed that despite all the noise I have put up with over the last week the least she could do is say hello back!?!?!

On the other hand I could be cranky from the lack of sleep :(

people are strange -my neighbours completely blank me and I have no idea why but they are pretty quiet so I don't worry about it

do they own the property or is it a rental?

StrawberryTot · 31/08/2012 01:30

I chat to all my neighbours on the block, apart from one as after 3 years living here i still don't know who lives there!!

Rental, the property has had builders working on it for months for 6 days a week, it was completely gutted. Ohhh I miss them and their power drills Grin

in that case start logging the noise and get it reported Grin

StrawberryTot · 31/08/2012 01:36

Thanks for the advice, and I will Grin

Oh dear - is a new episode of 'Neighbours From Hell' due to be filmed 'cos they sound like prime twats examples. YANBU

mrsscoob · 31/08/2012 09:09

That is rude. Only thing I could think is maybe she is embarrassed about the level of noise they have been making and so didn't want to speak to you. Doesn't excuse it though.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 31/08/2012 09:10

Maybe she is deaf, so can't hear you or the kids?

StrawberryTot · 31/08/2012 09:34

Mrsscoob I didn't think of that, maybe it is a possibility and nope definitely not deaf I am more than aware of this due to the early hours of the morning doorstep conversations!!
