To think that summer holidays as a single parent are a bit shit?

My ex has only had them for 1 extra day over the holidays (they stay with him on alternate weekends). He has been on 2 holidays this year with his step son and wife.

I suppose I should be grateful that he sees my 3 kids regularly and pays the maintenance but it really makes me angry that he doesn't bother with them in the school holidays. He never even has them any extra at Christmas.

I've been unwell all summer with a thyroid and back problem too but there is no point telling him that as it wouldn't make him help out any more.

I'm so glad they are going back to school next week. I'm stressed and knackered.

:( Sounds like a very selfish man. Hope your thyroid problem is sorted out soon. Are you being treated for it?

Even though I'm not single, I think DD has had quite a shit summer holiday too as my DH hasn't been able to take any time off work. I'm secretly glad she's starting school too.

Thanks Namechage I am being referred to an endocrinologist but in the meantime I'm taking beta blockers for my racing heart.
