To put dog poo in a normal bin

Just been out with my dogs and as it what chucking it down with rain I took them around the houses and not down the park. Had several bags of dog poo to dispose of and no dog poo bins so put them in a normal public waste bin. Do you think this is ok? I put it in the general waste bin at home so don't see the difference myself.

I do this in our local park sometimes as the park-keeper has said it's fine. I guess in hot weather it's nicer to put them in a covered bin as an open one could be stinky, but otherwise not a huge issue as long as they're bagged.

Better in a bin than anywhere else. Totally fine.

i do but i notice in cornwall the signs on the bins say specificalky it is not for dog poo. that is the only place i have noticed this.

i use nappy sacks anyway so they are perfumed and hide any dog poo smell, supposedly

I think for council emptied bins they ask that it be double bagged. I just put it in in one bag though- I can't afford to double up and if one isn't sufficient why would I be using it!

Its fine, there are few dog bins in my area and the council clearly state in their policies that dog waste is to be disposed of with normal waste.

I would use a normal bin if no dog poo bins. Where we normally walk the dogs there are loads of dog poo bins but no 'normal bins' and it's heaving with general litter

I tend to double bag anyway though, but use economy nappy sacks that are about 50p for 200.

when we had our dog she would poo in the back garden I just used to bag it and 'normal' bin it I dont think there is any rules about it ,
