That I didn't manage to offend anyone today? I mean I breastfeed DS (6 weeks) on the tube, in the park, in the National Gallery, in Pizza Hut and on the train, and no-one batted an eyelid Angry

I want to be able to do a sad face picture article for the Wail, what more can I do??

You could light up a cigarette in a perfectly legal place

That outta get the fuckers clutching their pearls Grin

Wommer · 28/08/2012 23:38

You could go out for lunch with my DM... She finds it very awkward when I bf in restaurants... And us the only person to actually tell me to cover up so far (13w)

cashmere · 28/08/2012 23:38

Repeat at 6 monthly intervals- you might gradually get more of a response!
Sounds like a busy day!

PissyDust · 28/08/2012 23:38

You need to loud parent.

OHHH LOVELY ICKLE BABY NEEDS SOME BOOBIE WOOBIE MILK! GOD THIS CLASP IS STIFF! BREAST FEEDING IS SUCH HARD WORK! HUBBY DARLING PLEASE BRING ME WATER AS IM BREAST FEEDING OUR DARLING CHILD

Etc etc

CrispyCod · 28/08/2012 23:41

Shout 'bittie' at the top of your voice just as you get your boob out.

bronze · 28/08/2012 23:43

You need to wop the other one out on the table at the same time

bobbledunk · 28/08/2012 23:43

Squirt the milk at your fellow commuters/diners/passers by, they'll all have an opinion then.

BigHairyFlowers · 28/08/2012 23:44

You need to go into a cafe and order a pot of tea, then say 'Oh, don't worry about the milk, I'll just squirt some of my own in'.

sensuallettuce · 28/08/2012 23:46

You need to BF until DS is 2 and a half and regale the tale for years and be bemused in wonderment of the reactions for years Hmm

Softlysoftly · 28/08/2012 23:47

No one cares am bitterly dissapointed I too expected shock and rage, I even bf at my SIL's Muslim wedding near men and noone said boo.

Have you tried nursing husband from the other breast whilst cooing something about rebirth and family bonding?

WorraLiberty · 28/08/2012 23:48

Good idea

But make it someone else's husband....

ElizabethPonsonby · 28/08/2012 23:49

It was a very busy day.

People smiled at me in an 'awww' sort of way! It was so infuriating!!

i bf in mcdonalds 16 years ago and was told to do it in the toilet,,,oh how times have changed...

tethersend · 28/08/2012 23:54

Try swigging from a can of Special Brew whilst you're feeding.

Or just punch someone in the face?

Or both?

WorraLiberty · 28/08/2012 23:57

Could you try breast feeding in a P&C parking space...without a car?

CrispyCod · 29/08/2012 00:42

Or breast feed in the P&C space whilst simultaneously milking a goat.

BadLad · 29/08/2012 03:39

If I see a woman breastfeeding in a car park, I write R U D E on her breast with cream.

Thumbwitch · 29/08/2012 04:00

Bronze, I just actually LOLd at that! Grin

JumpingThroughMoreHoops · 29/08/2012 07:28

Ah, what you did incorrectly was BF a baby - try sticking a 5yo on your boob and watch the moral outrage.

InTheNameofTheWeeMan · 29/08/2012 07:36

I breastfed in my MIL's single room in an NHS hospital and was asked to leave - 19 years ago.

WillNeverGetALicence · 29/08/2012 08:00

Wow InTheName, that is shocking!

I know I felt nervous enough bf DS1 for the first few times in public 3 years ago...

I was so worried about people's reactions, comments, accidently flashing a bit of boob.

I had NO reactions or comments from anyone and stopped worrying about boob flashing pretty quickly too.

But it sounds as if some of you had some terrible experiences in the not so distant past and that is terrible.

I am so grateful for the Equality Act and protection in law that those bf now have.
