after the school holidays.

School bud srrives st 8am. The phone calls from teachers, finding lunch money, trip monry, snack money. All the forms to fill out. Justifying every little thing to teacjets. Respite is a real breeze.

I find some of the teachers are offish and dread further uncomfortable chats with them.

School is stressful for me.

You?

I'll miss my three, I'm never in a hurry to get them back to school so YANBU.

nellyjelly · 28/08/2012 14:26

No can't wait. my DD is soooooo bored and I need to get back to work!

Goofus · 28/08/2012 14:27

I find the constant request for them to dress up for this day and that, quite stressful. I'm not remotely creative and don't always have the money to buy things for them to use to dress up in in the first place.

Other than that, I'm quite happy for them to go back! Grin

They're missing school now anyway so the feeling is mutual. Smile

yanbu - dd1 starts year 7 on the 6th, having been home educated up until this point. I can't think of any positives tbh, beyond she wants to give school a go.

OddBoots · 28/08/2012 14:37

I find the first few days a real shock so I'm not looking forward to that but otherwise it will be great to be able to get back into a bit of routine and away from the squabbling.

wordfactory · 28/08/2012 14:37

School does require a lot of stuff to be done on my part, yes.
And getting up at 6.15 again, will kill us all...but it's been nearly eight weeks damn it. I need some space.

SoleSource · 28/08/2012 14:52

Do you/can you go back to bed for a bit word?

YANBU. DS1 is going into year 2 next week and DS2 is starting reception. I find during the holidays I get the best of my children. In term time I send DS1 to school bright eyed and bushy tailed and get him back tired and grumpy.

KenLeeeeeee · 28/08/2012 15:47

YANBU. The 6 weeks have flown by & I've really enjoyed having the noisy, messy buggers around. Dd also starts nursery on Monday and I'll really miss her.

NotShortImFunSized · 28/08/2012 15:53

I'm dreading it. All the stupidly early mornings, rushing around trying to get 5 un co-operative dc's to get ready and out the door on time.

Remembering everything they need every day, P.E kits, library books, endless amounts of forms needing to be filled in, all the money/material requests for various events etc.

I feel exhausted just thinking about it all. And all that on top of this bloody hideous morning (all day) sickness and dizziness. Bleurgh is all I have to say to going back to school!
