a really nice bra?

After reading a thread about bras and sizing brought a bra that should fit, but it was £50.

I don't really have £50 to spare as trying to save up for christmas etc and i should probably return it when it arrives, but i don't actually have a bra that fits let alone a nice looking one.
Aibu if i keep it? It's really nice.

YANBU keep it...in fact one good fitting bra isn't enough. Get 2 and look after them

WorraLiberty · 28/08/2012 00:09

Fucking hell 50 quid? Shock

I splashed out on a £4 bra from Asda today Grin

If you don't have one that fits and that's the only one you can find then YANBU

BadEducation · 28/08/2012 00:09

YANBU at all

A well fitting bra is a must, and it will make such a difference to how your clothes look. I spent years wearing the wrong size but now I buy from Bravissimo. I'd rather buy pricier bras and Primark clothes!

minikimmi · 28/08/2012 00:11

I've you've got massive hooters like me 50 quid bras are just a fact of life. If it's pretty that's a bonus.

marriedinwhite · 28/08/2012 00:13

I wouldn't feel guilty but I wouldn't have spent £50 if I hadn't tried it on to make sure it was perfect.

McHappyPants2012 · 28/08/2012 00:13

make sure you hand wash bras or put them on a delicate wash but close the clasps put them in a net bag and do not tumble dry regarless of what the label says.
After years of selling out ££££ for bras due to big breasticles some one told me this and my bras last alot longer

villagelife92 · 28/08/2012 00:17

Asda, primark and the like don't normally go up to my size and I plan on sending it back if it doesn't fit.

Thanks mchappy i normally just shove them in with the rest of the washing.

I have big tits and need 'proper braaaas'

i always get mine from bravissimo...they always have some on sale price, so £20-25ish

I ummed and aahed about getting a couple of £35 ones a while ago. They were the first non-nursing or -maternity ones I'd gone for in over a year but I still thought it was a lot. Then the lovely fitter pointed out that i could easily spend £35 on a top and I would wear the bras a whole lot more. Now I tell myself that all the time and spend loads on undies Smile

icecold · 28/08/2012 01:23

yes--think in terms of 'price per wear'

its a bit upside down, that we look for 'bargains' when we are shopping for everyday clothes. And are much more likely to buy expensive 'going out clothes' which get worn much less often

doasIsaynotasIdo · 28/08/2012 01:23

I wash mine (all underwired) in a bra ball it is fabulous!

LadySybildeChocolate · 28/08/2012 01:25

Not BU at all, just look after it and it will last years. I've had some expensive French undies that lasted ages in fact the nix wore out before the bras.

ihatethecold · 28/08/2012 07:06

Triumph bras are fab for large boobs.
The staff in the shop really take their time to make sure you get the right fit. Wink
Mine cost between 20 and 35 from
There

JumpingThroughMoreHoops · 28/08/2012 07:52

O/T rant

I went lingerie shopping yesterday. Did I come home with anything?

No. Why? because every muppet between Lands End and John O'Groats decided it would a brilliant idea to park their feckwitted husbands in the bras, often with a push chair - standing their looking dopey, getting in the way.

BabylonPI · 28/08/2012 07:55

My norks are a 34GG normally so £50 for a bra is pretty normal!

Don't get me started on maternity/nursing bras now I've gone up 3 more cup sizes Shock

Dawndonna · 28/08/2012 07:58

I think you should enjoy your bra. Even when I'm a skinny minnie, I have enormous norks, so a good bra is essential. If it fits so that you aren't actually aware of it under your clothes, it's heaven.
Do take note of the washing instructions as it will last longer.

Bellie · 28/08/2012 08:17

Bravissimo all the way. They are very reasonable prices so you may be able to buy 2 Smile.

Best investment that I have made in terms of clothing - my tops now look very different since I have had decent fitted bras.

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 28/08/2012 10:15

YANBU to spend that much on a bra, but YABU to spend that much if you aren't having it properly fitted in a shop. Unless it fits 100% perfectly when it arrives then send it back and go to a shop for a proper fitting, and spend the money on something you have actually tried on.
