Hi, have a bit of a problem with my pram and need advice. It's complicated as we're now overseas with a pram I can't use...
Bought the iCandy Cherry in the UK last summer when PG. Started using it early October when DD was a few days old. Loved the pram, bought the carrycot and chair sections as well as the foot muff and travel bag. We also have a car seat that clicks into the base.
Roll on to June and the back wheels started to slant on their axle. Returned the pram to the independent retailer I bought it from and they told me this was a common problem and as a result they had stopped stocking this type of iCandy. In the end, we did a deal whereby they paid for a new axle and I paid for two new back wheels (approx. £40). They claimed that wheels were not covered under guarantee. The fact that there was nothing wrong with my old wheels, rather the old axle, didn't seem to make much difference... My old wheels would not fit the new axle as this is where the design fault has been identified and hence the fitting was a different shape.
So this is where is gets tricky. I agreed to the new axle/wheel fix as we were just about to move abroad and I needed my pram to work. We are now overseas and both wheels keep FALLING OFF the pram. Not once or twice, rather every 100 metres or so. I am sick of trying to click them back in. DH and I have taken the whole thing apart, cleaned all fittings etc more than once and it's like the whole clip for the back wheels is faulty.
So - what do I do? My pram is useless, I'm stuck using an old Maclaren umbrella stroller at the mo and I can't physically get the pram back to where I bought it from as we're an 8 hour flight away.
So annoyed as it's a pain practically, let alone the best part of £1000 we have spent on a pram etc. that was meant to last more than one child. DD is only 11 months old :o( And it's still within guarantee...
