AIBU to think that if you cancel on me for a much longed for and needed catchup in the pub with an hour notice with a "head cold" and then in the next text ask me if I am free tomorrow morning, it shows you are faking it and just cannot be arsed to come out?

I have had a really shit day, could do with a drink. Bit the bullet last week and told my old best friend who hasnt bothered to contact me since I moved 5 hours away 2 years ago. I have tried, sent birthday cards and texts to catch up many times with no reply.

I am visiting for the weekend, have lots of people to see and had kept tonight free. I dont know when ill be back next.

YANBU...that is a crap excuse. Give a shout out and I'm pretty sure some local mners will stand you a sherbet or two . Wouldn't waste my time rearranging with her tbh, visit people who really want to catch up with you.

Arrange to meet, stand her uo then text her one hour later to tell her why. Do not reply. Find betterfriends.

Im pretty sure that if youre so ill that you cant go out, you wont feel better in the morning.

I'm gutted. Absolutely gutted. This was my last ditch attempt at keeping contact. I thought maybe it was my imagination that she never responded to texts etc.

Slightlysuperiorpeasant- my parents keep bumping into her in the local town and she tells them how much she'd love to see me and be in touch with me.

Stupidly I thought that was true and maybe she had just been too busy to call.
