To leave 2 year old shouting for me pre nap?

My nearly 2 year old DD is upstairs upset shouting for me. She is in her bed. I know she is shattered and needs a sleep. I used to be able to pop her into bed and she would basically roll over or chat for a few mins and conk out. No more!

She wants me to sit with her, which I don't mind doing, but she is starting to take the piss now, trying to get me to play with her cuddly toys etc, so I walked away.

I don't like leaving her to cry/shout, but she needs the sleep. I haven't needed to do it in a over a year. But I am close to breaking point, AIBU?

2.5yo DD does this, I leave her to it otherwise I'd be reading stories and playing with bloody Scout and Violet until the early hours. She stops moaning by the time I get halfway down the stairs.

Leave her to it.

Yep. Leave her.

Yanbu, As long as you know she's safe and comfy.

In her cot with her sleeping bag and her teddy bears. She shouted for ten minutes and then heard snoring. Phew!

My dd went through a phase like this at around 2 yo. They don't want to sleep and miss out on playing or what ever else they could be doing.
I kept up the routine of lunch then 2 stories and nap and for about 5 days she protested. I found if i went back in the room to comfort or tell her to sleep it made it worse so i left her to it and she went to sleep. A couple of times she didn't go off so i left her 45 mins to an hour and felt at least she'd had a bit of quiet time lying in her bed. She didn't cry the whole time. I found it a bit stressful, as i'd be creeping around trying to be quiet.
She's 2.7 now and still takes a good two hour nap so definitely worth it.

Oh I wish 2.6 DD would still nap. If she falls asleep she's awake until 10pm.
