We're watching Sex and the City the film (yes, yes I am being unreasonable for watching a crappy film. Whatever).

The scene with the wedding has just happened. Big didn't show up and then pissed off leaving poor old Carrie crying her eyes out. Their cars pass, they stop and they have a barny. Carrie's all, "How could you?!" And Big's all "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, let's go back." Carrie gets back in her car and drives off.

So as we're watching, I mutter "what a dick" and DP says "Are you kidding? She's the dick. He said sorry and she was too busy being hysterical."

Er, WTF DP. You think she should have just said "Oh OK, no worries Big. Let's go. I'd just LOVE to marry you right now after you've humiliated me, you total ARSEHOLE."

Is my DP a dick? I think I might have to get rid of him for this. 'tis serious, ladies.

Imo they were both being dicks in that film. Him for doing the BS game playing he was doing and her for not listening to him when he realised he was being a dick. Oh and Charlotte for that stupid "angry and disappointed" face she pulls.

I watched this same scene with my friend and when Carrie says 'I knew this would happen' when Big doesn't show up she helpfully commented, 'seems a waste to go to the bother of planning the wedding then'. I think your dp was understandably annoyed at having watched such a rubbish film!
