Just been to the shop.
Mum of two kids in there told them both to pick some sweets, boy (about 3 poss 4) chooses chewing gum.
The till lady scans it and mum give it to boy who opens it and starts chomping away and then give a piece to his sister (about 2) . Mum saw, said nothing.
Now I have a 4yo and would not dream about giving him chewing gum, for a few reasons. Main one would be the choking hazard of a child running around with gum in their mouth.
I will fully admit to my judgey pants being hoisted, but it did make me wonder about what others think. It just wouldn't even occur to me that chewing gum was a small childs treat.
