Dd(2.9) had tummy bug at weekend but is fine now. I was ok yesterday daytime but tummy started feeling odd last night, then woke at 3am with bad tummy. Haven't actually been sick but feel it, and have been to loo lots. Plus am knackered as have been awake since 3!!
Normally would definitely stay home but am meant to be running training course for 25 people. My office can try and contact them but will be coming from all over county so some will go straight from home so may not be able to get hold of them. Other option is to ask colleague to do training but really unfair with no notice.
Can't be sure I will get through trainingvwithout having to dash out plus don't want to spread bug. But feel really guilty about either letting people down or dumping on colleague.WWYD?

What are the chances of it being stress/anxiety about running the course?

ChessieFL · 22/08/2012 06:42

No, have done lots in the past so not nerves!

If you work for someone else, rather than yourself, then it's up to them to ensure that there is resilience in place to cover sickness etc - relying on one single employee in this scenario is a big risk, as you have the right to sick leave and they can't expect you to work when your ill.

If its your own business, then I'd probably do it if you possibly can; just use the heat or a similar excuse to schedule regular breaks Smile

Decision made - felt vaguely ok lying down, but just got up and walked around and felt terrible. No way I can stand up and present for 2 hours. So I will have to let people down :-(

I wouldn't go and run the risk of infecting 25 people.
