I chucked ours out. DH kept forgetting to put the drip tray thing in front of it. Hmm And putting it away without cleaning it.

Just put the grill on. Grin

timetosmile · 21/08/2012 18:51

We gave ours away a while ago - only one of the surfaces seemed to grill, it dripped everywhere and generally was a big disappointment...let it go, girl.....

ShowOfHands · 21/08/2012 18:51

Can I have it? We were bought one as a wedding present 8yrs ago and I love it, use it most days. It's on its last legs though and tonight while doing bangers and mash it's fallen apart entirely. I feel quite Sad about it.

TheSkiingGardener · 21/08/2012 18:51

Ebay or freecycle.

You can wash them better in the bathroom sink but you have to be careful they gave a tendency to leap out of the window Wink

Mrsjay · 21/08/2012 18:51

sooo how long did you have it before you chucked it Hmm

Yabu. I cook paninis on ours using part baked baguettes.

They are lush!

Bingdweller · 21/08/2012 19:03

Ours was binned after the gammon steak incident. Doesn't cope too well with salty fat - the crusty brown coating gave me the boak so I chucked it out.

Mrsjay · 21/08/2012 19:09

Its the crispy coating i hate and the spitting and then washing the fat tray , stoopid stoopit contracption ,

I freecycled mine, it took up too much room and wasn't worth the bother of cleaning it. It went to a good home Smile

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 21/08/2012 19:12

YANBU. I have had ours for about 8 years. Cannot remember when last I used it. When next I open that cupboard again, I will bin ours.

MoreBeta · 21/08/2012 19:12

Get yourself a black cast iron ribbed skillet.

It will last forever and costs £10.99. Does exactly the same job on your cooker top as the George Foreman.

Honestly, cooking with black cast iron pans is a revelation.

Naoko · 21/08/2012 19:13

[shocked] I love mine, was bereft when the old one died and bought a new one the same day....

iknowwho · 21/08/2012 19:16

We love ours!!
Ds1 has used it today to make toasties for a snack.
I grill the veg for my veg kebabs on it. courgettes and pepper get done really well.
Ds2 does his bacon and sausage on it.

It's great . Easy to clean and then goes in the cupboard when finished. No problem.

iknowwho · 21/08/2012 19:17

Get yourself a black cast iron ribbed skillet.

But you can't make toasties with them!!

MoreBeta · 21/08/2012 19:18

WineGoggles · 21/08/2012 19:44

YANBU. Stick it on Freecycle; someone will love getting it for free and you'll be happy someone took it off your hands. A win win situation.
