To not want someone else using my headphones?

They are the type with the rubbery bits on that you stick into your ear.
I don't want them sticking in any body else's ear, I think it's gross, but no matter how many times I say don't use them, they are never where I have left them, I then have to hunt for them. Nd I always find them attached to someone elses computer or iPhone.
They are not the only pair in the house we have at least 6 pairs, its just everyone is too lazy to look!

I can understand not wanting your headphones to be inserted in random ears but it's a bit precious to treat your family's ears as if they were hosting the Ebola virus. YANBU in wanting your headphones to be put back where you left them though.

It's not just family, DDs boyfriend helps himself to them as well!

It may not be because "everyone is too lazy to look! ", it may be because they simply do not have the same hang ups as you and feel it rather too trivial to bear in mind.

I have similar hang ups about DP leaving used tea bags around the place. It appears it means absolutely nothing to anyone but me. So I am learning to live with it.

I feel the same as you, Binky. Earphones that go in the ear are quite personal. How about buying some in a bright color for yourself and telling everyone no one else is to use them. Mine are bright pink.

How would they feel if you used their toothbrushes for cleaning the plughole in the sink?

I don't want to share earwax, sweat etc, even if they are my family.

YANBU. Buy some with a case and always put them away/drop them in your pocket when you're not using them.

Someone at work asked to borrow mine for a bit and I let them. Didn't worry me, I wasn't planning to suck them afterwards!
