Aibu to not bother sleeping

I am boiling hot. I never normally sleep much anyway. I have to go the the stables. Would it be sensible to give up sleeping, go to the stables in an hour or so, and then come back and have a couple of hours kip? I don't have anything important to do late morning and I don't think OH has any work on today so he can have DC.

No, do it

TheQueenOfDiamonds · 21/08/2012 03:58

My basis for considering this is if I try to sleep now I may get 4 hours of broken, light sleep. If I sleep later I will have the bed to myself so not as stifled and hot and hopefully get a few hours solid good sleep.

Personally I would love to sleep now as I have to go and do quite a full on days work in a few hours but from what you said, if I were in your shoes I'd not bother! Have a nice cuppa and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Great minds think alike lepet - I'm just making a coffee lol.

Lol I'm contemplating tea but then I'd have caffein as well as DH snoring like a freight train to contend with.

TheQueenOfDiamonds · 21/08/2012 04:31

Oh gosh lol. I hate snoring. My other half only does it when he's had a few lagers. He thinks he is aching the next day from the night before, really its because I've been prodding, pushing and occasionally jabbing him.

My daughters dad is the worlds worst snorer though. His mums house is fecking huge and you can hear him on the oposite side of it. We should have known DD is profoundly deaf really just on the basis that she can sleep through in the same room as him.

YANBU at all. I am currently not sleeping so that 2 day old pfb can sleep in my arms rather than the Moses basket. DH is sleeping but in about half an hour we will swap and I will have at least an hour of blissful undisrupted sleep. Can't wait!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/08/2012 05:12

I cant sleep either. Money worries. DP got paid last week but the bank have totally fucked it all up and then this week his boss has taken a mini breakdown. We are two weeks behind on rent. Got thru last week on my maintenance from ex which is tiny. Havent had a penny since friday and now have ran out of food and toilet roll. :(

No idea when we are going to get money. Really freaking out.

But YANBU. If I had somewhere to go right now to relax me and then sleep later I would do it.

Sorry for randomness but needed a rant!!

TheQueenOfDiamonds · 21/08/2012 05:14

Ahhh, I remember that with my first.. 3 days of slow labour and 2 nights of no sleep.. Thought I'd be dead to the world when it was over, I was so tired.. Had her on the saturday at 3:15 am, slept for 3 hours in the early hours of sunday morning, then woke up and went back to staring in amazement at her lol.

Congratulations to you both!

Thank you Queen, there is nothing that can prepare you for the moment when you stare at them besottedly and realise that they are staring back. He smells and cuddles so wonderfully that I was getting jealous of the Moses basket anyway (eek). ...and now to awake DH.

Now go and attend to horses, and enjoy your sleep.

DomesticGoddess rant away! That is what Internet strangers are for! Wink I hope things start to improve for you soon.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/08/2012 05:28

Thanks Hamster. And congratulations!!

I remember those first days so well. I had no sleep at all from sat night to tues night. Got a great night sleep when I finally got to bed (she must have known I needed it) and then was back up for her 7am feed. Sat for hours just looking at her. Early mornings were the best!

Have it all to look forward to again in november!!

TheQueenOfDiamonds · 21/08/2012 06:03

Domestic - oh you poor thing. Money worries are horrible. Our financial situation isn't brilliant as not much work so you have my sympathies. If I didn't have my mum around I'd.be well and truly fucked. I'm shit with money.

Hamster - I'm having one more coffee and then going to sort him out. He's living out so only going to give him a flick over with the brush and a clean up as he is filthy and wind plaited!
