perfumed toilet paper?

ruledbyheart · 16/08/2012 12:01

AIBU?
I mean why?
I have survived 24yrs of normal toilet paper why would I need perfumed toilet paper?

My lovely ex H has just bought it over for me as he often phones on his way over to see DC'S to see if I desperately need anything (3 under 5yrs so it's difficult to get out first thing) and I have ran out of toilet paper so him being nice bought me some not noticing it's perfumed.
I am sensitive to perfumes and have a feeling it's going to make me itchy.

Just a rant really as its the most pointless thing I have ever come across and I'm bored.

It's as pointless as perfumed sanitary towels.

OldGreyWiffleTest · 16/08/2012 12:03

Pointless - same as the aloe vera toilet paper (couldn't tell when I was dry!).

Krumbum · 16/08/2012 12:29

We just ran out of toilet roll so I used a mentholated Kleenex, very refreshing!
Scenting it seems like a marketing gimmick, it's not like the perfume could cover up the smell of poo!

WelshMaenad · 16/08/2012 12:35

It might just be the cardboard roll that's perfumed, I think asda does one, it's supposed to double as a general air freshener. They've obviously never encountered my Dh and his need for half a can of glade.

numbum · 16/08/2012 12:41

Yabu. Have you not smelt the shea butter toilet roll? It makes my bathroom smell lovely Grin

dondon33 · 16/08/2012 13:06

If you have a sensitive fanjo then don't use this loo paper. I'm talking about the kind that the actual paper is scented.

I mistakenly bought some earlier this year while living in Europe (didn't realise it was in UK too) Yes it made my bathroom smell bloody lovely but the perfume used on it was too strong for my sensitive leaves :) After about 5 days I got quite itchy and irritated from it.

KRUMBUM :@ mentholated tissues :@ I once had to use some tissue from my bag in a public loo that i forgot I'd previously loaded with olbas oil Shock
not an experience to be repeated.

I bought scented tampons this week. Why do they even exist??

Petsinmyolympicpudenda · 16/08/2012 18:47

scented tampons? why? who is sniffing your pudenda?

tethersend · 16/08/2012 18:49

One way ticket to thrush central.

YANBU

ThisWeekonFancyPuffin · 16/08/2012 18:52

To be fair though, I would much rather my fanny smells like garden o' flowers as opposed to stench o' piss...

noisytoys · 16/08/2012 18:53

Tampax pearl they have a very strong waft of old lady perfume

ripsishere · 16/08/2012 18:53

I wondered about that shea butter stuff. Doesn't it slip when wiping? or leave a slimy feeling?

Dawndonna · 16/08/2012 19:08

There was something like that around in the eighties. I got thrush every bloody time!

Sparklingbrook · 16/08/2012 19:10

That shea butter stuff gives me an angry fanj. Sad

HaveALittleFaith · 16/08/2012 19:10

Yup they just make my fanjo itch!

Sparklingbrook · 16/08/2012 19:11

Tampax Pearl are ouchy they pinch.

dondon33 · 16/08/2012 19:13

I'd rather my fanny smelt like a garden of flowers too but not to pay the price with a scratchy itchy fanjo :@
I'd rather be au naturale - normal loo paper and unscented babywipes does the trick :)

OMFG Scented tampons, seriously? Do they not research the frigging thrush risk involved. I'll have to keep my beady eye out for them and make sure I don't pick em up by mistake.

Sparklingbrook · 16/08/2012 19:15

Perhaps they should market Canesten Loo Roll. Wink

dondon33 · 16/08/2012 19:15

I find that too Spark, don't know how many times the bloody applicator has almost had a piece of my downstairs lips :)

Sparklingbrook · 16/08/2012 19:16

Why does it do that dondon? It makes me all clenchy to start with. Grin

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 16/08/2012 19:21

Back in May, my fanjo got very itchy. Blush At 38 I've never had this complaint (never had thrush) but thought this could be my first attack. Then I noticed DH had bout 'shea butter toilet paper'.
I stopped using it and this itch was cured!

Sparklingbrook · 16/08/2012 19:23

We had a fresh roll of it in our self catering apartment a couple of years ago BadDay I thought 'ooh posh'. The 'burning Fanj holiday of 2009'. Sad

MrsApplepants · 16/08/2012 19:31

Sparkling - Canesten loo roll, what a brilliant idea. Seriously!

Sparklingbrook · 16/08/2012 19:32

With maybe some Canesten Moist Wipes to go with it MrsA? Smile

tethersend · 16/08/2012 19:35
