Were moving to Ireland from England to be near a family member whose pregnant [to help her] the HSBC have had all the appropriate paperwork since March 2012 and they are still kepping us waiting. I really dont think we are being unreasonable. All we want to do is get there before the family member delivers.

I see your mistake - You should be talking to RyanAir, they're much more efficient if annoying in so many other ways. HSBC is a bank not an airline.

Why does a whole family have to move because of one pregnant person? Why can't the pregnant person come to you?

although there are many international travellers with good reason to be heftily peed off with said bank, i'm not clear on your reason OP ?

I'm baffled too. I've moved countries several times. A bank has never stopped me.

i wonder if they are using their 'moving country' service available to premium account holders, and have found it not much cop.
