We're at the start of week 4 of the holidays here, we are going away on holiday for a week but not till the end of August. So I want to arrange a few playdates for the dds over the next couple of weeks. But practically everyone I speak to doesn't have even a spare day, every day has been filled with arrangements!

What happened to having a bit of down-time and unplanned things? Do I need to make arrangements months in advance??

I agree. Everyone seems to frantically fill their DCs days.

Its not so much frantically filling every day,for me, its sorting stuff in advance around my work.

I do LOVE down days where we slob about at home though or nip to the park with a picnic.

Are there no local children your DCs can play with?

There are a couple usualsuspect but they're flipping busy doing tennis camp!

Dd3 is quite good friends with the little boy next door which is lovely - she can just pop round when she fancies some company.
