Alice diminutives

My mum would like me to use Alice as it's a family name. I'm not very keen on the actual name, but like the idea of using a family name (possibly as a middle name)

Just wondered if anyone can think of any good versions of Alice?

(Not scared of unusual names! btw)

Dotty, we do sing that song so maybe that's why she is Ally B. (Shortened the shortening...)

In Russian the diminutive is Alia (or Alya)

Seriously? I like that. After a long long wrangle, we settled on Alice for DD2. One of my many bugbears about it is the lack of nicknames as we already have a fairly prominent Ally in the family. I love Alia/Alya

Funny with us as it turned out it was a name that ran right through both familys my maternal great grandmother had it as a middle name a paternal great aunt was Alice (I'd forgotten only met her once) DH's grandmother was Alice and his mothers middle name was also Alice.

My name is Alice. My siblings call me Ali, but nit my parents. My most commonly used nns are based on my surname, the real name of the person who has my name as his stage name and 'Mummy'.

Dotty - we discovered something similar with Samuel when we were expecting DS.
