AIBU to consider buying M&S jeans?

These skinny ones ?

All the reviews are from people my mum's age, but I am 1 year post-baby number 2, have lost a lot of weight, have a bit of a muffin top in lower rise jeans, and would like something that actually fits me.

I am a size 8 with a small waist, and I thought this might be a good move, as they are within my limited budget...

Too scared to post in Style and Beauty, I know the MN consensus on M&S! Grin

Don't be put off by the reviewers ages, M&S tend the attract a mature shopper.

Buy them!

Try them and if they fit and look good, then YANBU, and you should buy them.
If they make you look like your mum, then YABU.

LynetteScavo · 09/08/2012 22:31

They grey ones are awful, go for indigo.

They are cheep, so even if you don;t wear them forever it won't be the end of the world.

Next do good skinnies.

pookamoo · 09/08/2012 22:41

Ha ha at making them look like my mum! :) She got told off by my gran and my aunt for wearing bootcut jeans (and yes, with mum boots too!) the other day as she was trying to look young, apparently! She'd never wear skinnies so I think I will be safe.

Yes, I would go for the dark indigo ones, lynette and will also try Next.
Will try on tomorrow and report back. Thanks.

I have a great pair of skinnies from M&S, in a teal colour.

Who gives a chuff where they come from, if they fit well and don't cost too much?

pookamoo · 10/08/2012 06:30

:) cointreau I think I was really just wondering if anyone else had bought similar.

I have m&s skinnies in bright blue. They are a really good fit and I don't think look mummish. I am in my 30s. They were also cheap.

H and m jeans are fantastic for hiding muffins

CherryBlossom27 · 10/08/2012 10:03

Yanbu! Try them on and if you like them and they fit well who cares where they come from?

gamerwidow · 10/08/2012 10:07

Try them if they look good then buy them and just don't tell anyone from where they come from.
fwiw i think next is more "mumsy" than m&s these days.

bogeyface · 10/08/2012 10:19

I only buy M&S jeans now as for ages you couldnt get decent rise ones anywhere else. They are a really nice fit, although I buy straight leg rather than skinnies.

Bunbaker · 10/08/2012 10:24

If they look good and fit well it doesn't matter where they come from. IMO anyone wearing clothes that suit their shape and that fit properly always looks stylish.

I like the look of those jeans as well. I hate low rise jeans and trousers with a passion.

pookamoo · 12/08/2012 10:52

Well, in our M&S they didn't have any skinny jeans at all! They did have what they called jeggings although I would have thought jeggings didn't have a zip fly?

Anyway, they are fine, and a nice fit. The only thing I wasn't very impressed with is the finish on the back pockets, but having tried on an 8 and a 10 in Next for comparison, and finding I must be a 9 Hmm I went back and got the M&S ones. Smile

Those jean are god-awful IMO but if you like them, who cares about the brand.

chocoluvva · 12/08/2012 13:12

I bought a pair of blue M+S sits-on-the-waist jeans recently and I quite like them. But I'm 44...... :)

pookamoo · 12/08/2012 22:05

tbh, they just look like jeans to me... the ones I bought are slightly different, but they will do.

"that will do" kind of sums up my wardrobe at the moment [sighs] Grin

I bought the skinny (dark) red ones (£22) mostly cos I liked the colour. Gonna go back to check for other colours they're lovely. Buy them Grin!

GreenGoldSilverAndBronzeShadow · 12/08/2012 22:33

M&S jeans are brilliant. Fit me perfectly, but as others have said, buy a size smaller than usual.
