AIBU but are all birthdays shit?!
Husband had r to work away last night and today so I'm left with DD (1 year, lots of fun!)

Needless to say DD is asleep and I'm feeling sorry for myself. Lots of texts saying have an 'amazing' day but really it's just like any other day

Off to children's centre this afternoon for play with DD

Happy birthday pickle!

I know what you mean, birthdays can be an anticlimax when you are an adult.

BUT it is a lovely day (well it is here).

Do you have to go to a children's centre? That is crap at the best of times. Can you take her to the park instead, and then go to the shops and buy yourself a huge cake?

WorraLiberty · 09/08/2012 11:36

Well once you get past the age of 21, I think it's just the anniversary of the day you were expelled from your Mother's uterus....but maybe I over simplify things? Grin

Happy Birthday Thanks

As everyone said on your other thread about this, just celebrate when your DH returns.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 09/08/2012 11:38

Happy birthday.

I agree. My 40th was boring as hell.

Sirzy · 09/08/2012 11:40

Celebrate your birthday when your DH is back, go for a picnic in the sun with your DD or something else nice.

squeakytoy · 09/08/2012 11:40

Happy Birthday.

But you are an adult now, and other adults have to work. Just do something to celebrate at the weekend. It still counts.

wankpants · 09/08/2012 11:41

YANBU.

Happy Birthday. You share it with my mum, may she rest in peace.

Trills · 09/08/2012 11:42

My theory on birthdays:

If you are old enough to read a calendar, you are old enough to know that sometimes it's better to celebrate on a more convenient date (often a weekend) instead of your actual birthday.

If you are not old enough to read a calendar, then you won't know that it's not really your birthday :)

make the effort- go out, get soemthing for yourself....go out with the girlies or go for a nice meal with the DD....

its your day, it will only be as special as u make it
