To be very annoyed and stressed with house move?

We were due to move a few weeks back ( expected completion dye was 2 weeks ago).

We are having major problems with the Seller's solicitors. Our solicitor has said we need a document saying that we can legally purchase the land that the property is built on. Their solicitor has messed us around telling us it is "in hand" they are now saying they will not provide it until we exchange.

Our solicitor has said that we cannot exchange without it as we won't be able to register the property in our name. He said he will go back to them today but this has been going on weeks and got no where. Angry
AIBU? What can we do??

Threaten to walk away?
Let the owners know you are threatening to walk away unless their solicitor pulls his finger out.

YANBU, moving house is stressful

It's a new build site so not sure threatening to walk would help. There are lots wanting the properties so they'd just sell to someone else. :(

Are you in a chain so selling a property too, and worried you will lose your buyers if you keep them hanging on much longer....?

It is risky but you could go ahead and exchange on your sale and hope you will be in a position still to complete on the sale of your new place at the same time.

Presumably everyone who is buying one of these properties will have to do the same thing.

House moving is very stressful.

No we're not in a chain as renting at the moment. Property is owned by DPs family so we can stay here till we move.

I think you just have to wait it out then, annoying to be taking so long but to be honest at least you don't have the stress of worrying you may lose a sale due to delays and then not be in a position to purchase the new place. You are in a better position than some people as don't even need to worry about when to give notice ona rental property.

I am sure it will be worth the wait once you are in there.

Thank you :)

Everything is packed so we are trying to live out of a few
Boxes. Had to re arrange all furniture deliveries twice already, fingers
Crossed it goes through before next one is due!
