To really really wish I had a discernible talent?

What I mean is, to wish I was a brilliant athlete/ballet dancer/actress/professor/scientist/etc. I don't want fame especially, although that would go with the territory in some fields; wouldn't mind the fortune aspect.

But 'jack of all trades, master of none' just about sums me up! If you have a fantastic talent, does it make you happy?

I think lots of people have a germ of a talent somewhere, but very, very few have the drive, dedication and willingness to work incredibly hard to turn it into something. I am a good writer. I've made a living out of it. But now I'm trying to write a book and its on a whole different scale of intensity.

I know what you mean Boschy, I'm also a jack of all trades master of none and sometimes wish I was an expert in something. But I simply am not the type to get obsessed with things and I think that level of enthusiasm is required to become an expert. Think on the positive side though, jacks will have explored many interests and therefore have lots to talk about Smile
