To not want to go...

to longleat with dh and the boys? Hubby has a week off work and wants us to go to longleat safari park. We have been hundreds of times as it's local for us and i find it quite tedious. Also I have already been home for 3 weeks with the boys and have another two weeks after this one.

Is it selfish of me to not wnt to do a family outing?

Sell it to your DH as a Daddy and children day and then stay at home!

Oh he is totally happy to take them, they are just doing the "oh it would be nice if mummy came too" thing lol

Err..no.

My dh is pants at taking the kids off by himself to do stuff. I'd love it if he would take them away for an afternoon so I could chill at home alone.

It's not because he doesn't want to be with the kids - but if I want a break I have to go elsewhere, he has no social initiative whatsoever. It's a bit crap.

I can't see why your dh can't do this one on his own.

if the kids would enjoy it then why not? be nice to have a day out surely, even if it is somewhere you go a lot?

Go to bristol aquarium instead! Lovely visit!

LaurieFairyCake · 06/08/2012 10:55

Don't go - you have nothing to feel guilty about - let dh take them

Alternatively, go, and sit in the coffee shop and read a book and relax.

Of course YANBU. I'd be telling them that Daddy wants to have a day out with just them, and that you are looking forward to hearing all about their adventures when they get home.
Then I'd probably make some brownies or something for when they get back. "look what I had time to do today!" inbetween posts Grin

YANBU. Of course he would prefer you to go too - it would ease his job looking after the DC - but since you have been loads of times, do something else that you want to and let them have some "quality father time". Grin

Are you in striking distance of Cotswold wildlife park, my favourite or the farm park if your DCs are -10.

I like Longleat, but only because I've only been a couple of times. Would get dull.

Western bury is amazing in autumn, but not sure how much there is to do in summer.
