To think the cumbrian weather hasn't been that bad

I have bought something off eBay. I have paid but they haven't sent it. They say it's due to the bad weather in Cumbria. AIBU to think I am being conned and what do I do? I have raised a complaint in eBay but not done anything with PayPal yet.

It hasn't! We've been there for most of last week and it's been quite sunny! Maybe they are so unused to sun at the moment that fear of sunstroke on the way to the PO is the issue .

Hope it turns up soon.

Maybe they're in a remote part and a bridge is down because of earlier rain? It has rained at times, but no more than you'd expect at the moment and it's been really warm in between.

Hmmmm since mid july, first they said that they couldn't get to the PO and now they say that they have just been to the post office and it was still in the sorting office but they had sent it off. sounds like a load of ball cocks. I really hope its true but cumbria isn't in the 1950's I know it isn't I have been there, its sort of the 70's

I would stick my neck out and say that on balance Cumbria has had a bit of a better summer than Southern England (admittedly based only on conversations between me and my cousin who lives up there).

It is so frustrating when this happens. I had it once when having chased someone up they said they hadn't managed to post as they'd been ill. I'm sympathetic but for over 2 weeks? And they'd still managed to list items in the meantime? In the end I think I just didn't leave feedback rather than leaving them a neg, just incase. Was annoying though.

I haven't received it yet though. Looking on the profile they have bought bits and pieces but not sold anything.

We've had shit summer but are used to it so don't get our hopes up too much!

My bit of Cumbria hasn't had anything extreme, odd days with flooding/roads shut but nothing major.

Ha by the power of a mumsnet moan the post man just turned up with a package.

I feel a tad guilty now but it did take from the 12 july to get to me so not too guilty. What to leave on the feedback? Also charged £5 for postage when it only cost £2.20 hmmmmm

My bit of Cumbria has had bloody awful weather but no real flooding for a few weeks and I'm pretty remote. There were postal delays of a few days when it was at its worst and some of the very rural post offices may have had more issues but certainly not for the last few weeks!

And now panicked as Derek and Clive is on it and I can't get them off. There is loads of dodgy C&W which can stay. Ah, so it was a bargain - I'm guessing that was your problem as the seller was probably just annoyed at low sale price. Not saying they were being dodgy but it probably just made it low priority.

Glad it's arrived though, if it makes you feel better the last bargain I got on eBay "suddenly" developed stains on the arms between it being listed and sold to me so the transaction was cancelled.

As for feedback - bearing in mind it was a bargain I'd leave positive feedback but mark them down on delivery time.
